Nature Connects Us

My artwork focuses on the nature part of "connection to community and nature' because people are inherently connected to nature and this creates their connection to the community. It is at the core of everything, including our existence and wellbeing. According to a series of field studies conducted by Kuo and Coley at the Human-
Environment Research Lab, time spent in nature connects us to each other and the larger world. For this reason the artwork does not require a human presence to show connection. Nature simply creates it. The tree trunk themed fabric background is representative of how nature enriches the fabric of our community. The 'All we need is love' slogan identifies the need to look after nature, as it looks after us.
