Still Life: Poppies

The railway station was originally named ‘Rifle Range’ (because it was near the Enoggera Army rifle range) and has undergone significant transformation after the closure of the wartime camps in line with the development and expansion of Gaythorne as a suburb.
I‘m interested in the evolution of this space, and how through these artworks I have been able to honour this history while also presenting it through a contemporary lens.
'Still Life: Poppies' presents the poppy which traditionally is an object of memorabilia, and abstracts this using a collaging method to present a contemporary still life arrangement.
