Lady Bowen – Queensland’s ‘First’ First Lady

This artwork celebrates Lady Bowen, wife of the first governor of Queensland Sir George Ferguson Bowen. The artwork seeks to highlight Lady Bowen’s dedication and contribution to improving healthcare services in Brisbane in the 1860’s. The artwork is dedicated to my mother who was a nurse and to all Queensland health workers past and present.
