“Tribute to the Dingo”
PAINTED BY:
Annie Boman
DESCRIPTION:
I wanted to depict an aspect of Queensland's history (and present i suppose) that wasn't exclusively "white" history, but also give tribute to aspects of Queensland which is not man-made or human orientated. Although the dingo has posed problems for Euro-Australian farmers in Queensland, the dingo is also recognised as a national symbol. For Indigenous Australians the dingo has been both a personal and hunting companion. For myself, the dingo is wild and mysterious. It has shared the land in which i live with countless generations!
