Water Dragon

The name ‘Indooroopilly’ is derived either from the Aboriginal term nyindurupilli, meaning 'gully of the leeches' or yindurupilly meaning 'gully of running water'. I’ve incorporated the latter definition into my design along with a water dragon, known as Maggil in the Turrbal language; a possible namesake of Moggill Rd. The water dragon in this design is based, with permission, on a photo taken by Sheridan Fittock.
