“Going Green”
PAINTED BY:
Nick Simpson
DESCRIPTION:
I wanted to do a design involving something that happened a long long time ago but still occurred around about the same time as Queensland celebrated its separation from New South Wales. This being the logging of the trees and the beginnings of a new town/suburb in the 1860's. And the fact that Kenmore is now a major link between Brisbane and western suburbs and cities like Ipswich. The trees are running down the mountain because the Kenmore/Chapel Hill area is very hilly and backs on to Mt Cootha.
