Winners of the 2015 Artforce Awards

The 2015 Artforce Awards was held on Monday 08 February 2015 in Brisbane Square. Around 120 people attended the event. All involved in painting artworks in the Artforce project are congratulated and sincerely thanked for making Brisbane a brighter city.

Awards in six categories were announced:

Best 12 and Under

Best 12 and Under Highly Commended to Jayda Brown “Under the Sea” on TSB B0775 at Allen & Water Streets, SOUTH BRISBANE

Awarded $200 for Winner Best 12 and Under to Isabella & Astrid Thiedeke with “Dog Park” on TSB B0331 at Edinburgh Castle Road & Pfingst Road, WAVELL HEIGHTS

Best 18 and Under

Highly Commended: Jack Cameron for “Jacktisse” on TSB B0833 at Wynnum Road pedestrian crossing near Joffre Street, WYNNUM

Awarded $250 for Winner of Best 18 and Under: Teresa Fornataro with “Eclectic Ecosystem” on TSB B0388 at Beckett Road & Casuarina Street BRIDGEMAN DOWNS

Best School:

Winner awarded $200 to Year 3 and 4 of St Finbarr’s School with “St Finbarr’s School Days” on TSB B0096 at Waterworks Road & Coopers Camp Road, ASHGROVE 

Best Organisation:

Highly Commended: Tanya Hempson for Children’s Book Council with “ Celebrating Children’s Book Council” on TSB B0747 at Oxley Road & Nelson Street, CORINDA

Winner awarded $200: Zig Zag Young Women's Resource Centre with “Everyday Superheroes Speak Out Against Sexual Violence” on TSB B0237 at Brunswick & Ivory Streets, FORTITUDE VALLEY

Best Energex Cabinet:

Winner Awarded $1000: Gemma Garcia with “Dreaming the Same Dream” on Energex Box SC520165 at Gregory Tce, SPRING HILL

Overall Winner:

Runner Up in Overall Winner category awarded $500: Christina Bakker with “Now is the Time” on TSB B0094 at Musgrave Road pedestrian crossing near St Brigid’s Convent, RED HILL

Overall Winner awarded $1,000: Samir Hamaiel with “Growth” on TSB B0349 at Queen Street pedestrian crossing near Customs House, BRISBANE
